Loneliness by Peyton Herring

Eagerly you embark seeking companionship in a crowd of strangers.

Yet, each day You find me in the sea of faces.

Fleeing from my grasp you seek solitude, still feeling me by yourself,

I am Loneliness

With every step you place boundaries attempting to rebuild,

Still I make you hate yourself, I have no bounds

You feel my hands upon your neck around your loved ones and strangers alike,

I am Loneliness

I am not just a state of being

I am a cold hand at your throat, that seems to follow you everywhere you go

There will be days I seem so far away

These days will be your best days

I come less and less every so often

It gives me hope that one day I will

Lose you forever…pay
